J John Brown - If it is in the bathroom only, close the doors and keep them closed. If you have other places in the house with wallpaper, I suppose you could get clear plexiglass and affix it up so far on the walls. It might be that the cats are attracted to the wallpaper glue. There are cat repellent sprays, but from everything I have read/heard, they are not really all that effective.

Yes.Play with your cats. Catify your house. That kind of damage is done by bored cats without scratching posts, cat condos, cat TV or enough playtime.
