A few weeks ago my eight month old Kirby started limping around. The vet took x-rays and said that he has panosteitis (much more common in puppies) and gave him some pain medication. It will go away on it's own eventually but poor Kirby is still struggling with walking.
We just got back from being in Mexico for the week and Kirby started peeing on the floor in front of the litter box this weekend. I'm sure that this is just a combination of his sore back legs and the fact that all of the cats were sad that we were gone so long but I hate to see him like this.
I called the vet this morning and she gave me some prednisone to try for him and I'm really hoping it makes him feel better. Right now all he wants to do is curl up in my lap and cuddle and while I absolutely love his cuddles I want to see him run around and wrestle again.
I love my vet but I'm just wishing there was something more I could do for him. I have not had to deal with chronic health problems in my kitties yet so I'm wondering if anyone has any advice/ideas for me.
