I have already donated a bit to one of the many reputable rescues working in the area.

Some people have been able to help by fostering shelter pets from their own area, thus allowing their shelters to take in Texas shelter pets (which also are available for adoption). As a result, Texas shelters have more space to accept more animal flood victims/evacuees. I know one lady in NC who will be fostering 5 kittens from Texas; the kittens are enroute to FL where they will be met by pet transporters headed north.
Chewy.com has agreed to waive shipping costs for pet food donated this lady's cause. She reminds me of the saying, " if you need something done, ask the busiest person you know to do it". If anyone is interested in donating food to her efforts, please PM me for more details.
And please continue any and all prayers and vibes for the surviving cats and other animals in the Texas floods and the Western wildfires...with heat, hunger and thirst looming as the next threat, the need is great
