Hi catlovers! I’d appreciate your help to identify my cat’s breed. This is my first time having a cat as a pet.

We named him Kitty. Two years ago, we found him hiding under my mom’s car wounded in blood. We took him to the vet and decided to take care of him ever since.

My whole family has been curious about his breed. He does look like a Birman but I’m not so sure if it’s accurate since most Birman cats have blue eyes.

Help a mommycat out! Thank you so much! :)

He’s absolutely adorable! I think a Ragdoll lookalike is probably the closest for him. Birmans have white “socks”. Without having papers, he would technically be considered a blue point Domestic Longhair.

Yes a good Ragdoll look alike.
He may even be ragdoll for real. Many ragdoll lineages dont have clear cut blue eyes. They often tend to be greenish instead.

So to follow up. Its my personal guess Kitty IS a ragdoll, or at least, has very much recent ragdoll in him. Because of the greenish eyes, which should be blue in a siamese mix. His overall looks arent contradicting.
If it were a money bet, I would bet on it, Kitty being a ragdoll.

But I cant say for sure its a ragdoll, nor give an official verdict. ["He is a ragdoll, an advisor on the TCS said he was, so he is for sure" - this wouldnd be good, no?]

However, a dna test should give a fairly sure answer: either he is, or he isnt.

Had you searched for a microchip? Not all purebreds are microchipped, but many are. Its common here.

Hi! I was initially having a guess between a Birman or a Ragdoll. Glad to know that you’d agree on Kitty being a Ragdoll. Truly appreciate your help!

About the microchip, I don’t think it’s something common in my country. It’s my first time to hear about it from you. That seems interesting.

However, thank you very much for your help!!
