I have two cats, a three year old female and a two year old male. The male, Indiana, has lived with us since he was eight weeks. Lately, he's been peeing EVERYWHERE but the litter box. I changed litter, because the local store ran out, but went back to the usual brand at the end of June. He was fine until Thursday. I don't know what transpired Thursday while I was at work, but he's been off since. I took him to the vet and paid $430 for them to tell me nothing is wrong except for a full bladder. They wanted me take him to the er for a catheter to drain his bladder, but I'm not shelling out another $500 off of a guess.

What could be the problem? I'm debating separating them. Maybe my oldest is stressing him.

Well the full bladder is an issue. I doubt its a behavioral issue. Could be a UTI, bladder infection, or a blockage among other things. I'd go to another vet an get his urine tested. They should of done it while you were at the vets the first time.

Ok. I'll look into that. His paperwork doesn't indicate a urine test

Yes. He was neutered when he was still a baby.
