Pink Around Cat Eye

You guys have been amazimg on helping me so I'm here again. Sparky is a mostly white cat so I'm never sure what is normal and what isn't.
My son noticed tonight that he has pink around his eye. Any ideas? If it's pink eye can it be treated at home? Pic attached

It looks a little swollen. I would suggest if it's not better in the morning a vet visit is in order. Other than wiping their eyes with a clean cotton round with saline or clean water (don't use your finger you can give them an eye infection, yep i did that). Unfortunately an eye infection needs a vet to give you prescription drops. Pay attention to any drainage.
