I would love some suggestions for any toys that I could give my cat that are pica safe. Over time we have learned to keep trigger items away from her, without crippling our own lives. Items she eats that we CAN'T keep away: the couch, the rug nailed to the floor, the corner of the box spring. Items she will eat that we CAN keep away: clothing of any sort, Mail, paper money, plastic bags, cardboard etc. I even have to pull the blankets up over my pillows and tuck all the corners of the blankets underneath itself or I will come home to pillow case corners eaten or the corners to my blanket.
I have an interactive treat toy where you place treats in the spaces provided and slide the covers over them, which prompts her to think and use her paws to slide the cover off and scoop the treat out. The problem is this only entertains her for so long then she's off to create mischief. I also created my own treat dispenser by washing out an old pill bottle drilled a few holes in the side and smoothed out the edges to make it safe- put some treats or dry food in and place the cap back on. She then rolls it around and eats what comes out.
-out of ideas-
