We noticed our oldest cat, Phoenix, having back issues. We took him in to see the vet hoping for x-rays to be suggested. The vet said next time, and gave us joint supplements instead. Tonight we saw that his tail was doing something extremely weird. *picture it* He's laying on the floor on his side and his tail (at the top close to his body) is bent awkwardly and kind of stiff. And if I try to pet it in my hand it falls back down kind of hardly. It's very worrisome for me. I've made him another appointment for tomorrow because he needs to have x-rays done, which was what should have been done in the first place.
I am not sure if he will need surgery. Has anyone elses cats needed any kind of back surgery? He's still walking fine, and sometimes still trying to engage in play with his bro's. But I know he's aching because he cries a bit here and there - especially when laying down - and he's not as active.
Anyone able to shed any light?
