The FDA is cautioning pet owners not to feed the following raw pet foods to their animals, because the agency has found Salmonella in these products. The implicated products which were manufactured by Arrow Reliance, Inc., Tukwila, WA, are: Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Natural Selections Chicken Recipe with Organic Vegetables for Dogs (Lot 9774; manufactured on Jun 13, 2023), Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Natural Selections Chicken Recipe for Cats (Lot 9795; manufactured on Jun 28, 2023) and Darwin’s Natural Pet Products Natural Selections Chicken Recipe for Cats (Lot 9830; manufactured on Jul 19, 2023). The FDA recommended that the manufacturer voluntarily recall these products and notify the public, but the company has not yet done so.

FDA Warning Letter: FDA warned ADM Animal Nutrition that a March 2023 inspection of your vitamin and mineral premix and preblend animal food manufacturing facility uncovered evidence of a significant violation of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals requirements. Specifically, ADM failed to ensure that the vitamin preblend supplied to a customer contained the correct concentration of vitamin D.

To tempt you into buying things with Xytiol in them, manufacturers are giving it other names. The surprising thing is that it took this long for them to do that.

There was only one ingredient, kabocha extract, and in parenthesis was "Xylitol".

"Thank goodness they included that parenthesis because the manufacturers weren't required to do so and otherwise she wouldn't have known — which is very scary when you think about it.

Kabocha Extract is derived from kabocha pumpkins — while it is safe for human consumption, it poses a serious threat to our four-legged family members. If a dog ingests Xylitol, it stimulates a rapid release of insulin causing hypoglycemia, which can lead to life-threatening consequences.

Please always read labels very carefully and avoid bringing products with xylitol into your home. Learn more about xylitol and its different names.

Raw pet food implicated in Canadian Salmonella outbreak - this is a sloppy report as neither a company or brand is named. Locations are given. The report is by Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).

Outbreak illnesses have been reported by six provinces: Manitoba (1), Ontario (14), Quebec (21), New Brunswick (1), Nova Scotia (2), and Prince Edward Island (1).

The earliest cases date back to 2020, with most of the 40 cases reported in 2022 and 2023.

they do give precautions to take, one of which is to not touch your dog.
On the whole the report is rather strange, however, I'm including it since it may help.
