I have a 10 yr. old cream persian kitty, Lily, that was diagnosed with bladder stones about a year ago. Our new vet, (the second opinion we got), changed her diet and also put her on steroids because her hind legs are weak and sometimes drag.
The problem is she used to be perfect with the litter box but since she got bladder stones she pees and poops anywhere and everywhere and Im sure she doesnt even know when shes going pee. Pooping, if we are home, we can sometimes catch her and put her on a puppy pad before it gets everywhere, but because of her hind legs being so weak she sits and scoots across the floor to poop.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to may be try to help her realize when shes about to pee or maybe help her get back to using the litterbox.
Nothing has changed. we have used the same litter for the last several years and we replace litter boxes every 6 months to a year. Im quite sure that theres nothing we can do as we have tried EVERYTHING under the sun that we could think to try and everything we could find on google. Just hoping that someone here just might have a solution or a suggestion.
Please know that I WILL NOT put my kitty to sleep just because of this, so hoping to not getting any suggestions for that. She is one of TEN kitties, but shes always gotten along with everyone.
Please help, if you can! we are willing to try ANYTHING! =^..^=
