How much does a pedicure cost where you live and what is the experience supposed to be like? I had my first recently and it cost $25 and I gave a $5 tip. (Checked another salon in Hartford and they charged $25 also.)
Everyone at the salon was Vietnamese and very much not inclined to talk. If I asked the pedicurist a question, there was nothing in her answer. The salon was boiling hot, but eventually they turned on the a/c. What I hated most was the flat-screen TV that had infomercials on the entire time I was there. My manicure was okay, but she smudged a couple of the toes. I will not return to that salon.
I thought a manicure would be very relaxing and soothing, but mine wasn't particularly. What should I look for the next time I have a pedicure? Any tips?
