Can anyone tell me what this PDS injection for my cat was; he had a upper respiratory infection and they gave him convenia and this injection for congestion - what is this?

PDS injection for congestion

It would be best to ask your vet what the full name of the "PDS" injection. I can't find any info on such an injection online.
I'm not sure if an injection of any kind would help congestion. Here's some info on how upper respiratory infections are treated: Upper Respiratory Infection in Cats - Veterinary Partner - VIN
Convenia is an injectable antibiotic which carries some risk (see Convenia- long term antibiotic: Is it worth the risk?) Antibiotics are useless for viral infections.

To my knowledge, PDS just means pre-filled dual chamber syringe. Were you given a syringe to take home?

No that’s just what it said on the receipt apparently it’s something to help with congestion - he wasn’t running a fever - but he is a little congested with eye discharge - I thought he had an upper respiratory infection because he has gotten them in the past and he is FIV positive - other than that he’s doing just fine - I just wanted to be on the safe side and get him checked over
