I read somewhere that Persians eat their food in big pieces by licking because they do not have a rough tongue. My cat Coco is from the Persian family. Small mouth and a smooth tongue. She seems to have trouble eating shreds but can eat her canned food in one big piece. Talk about fast eater! Then she licks her tiny mouth fast and meows at the same time with her mouth closed.
