I just want to know if anyone has seen this before. We took him to the vet today, and she's stumped. She's calling a specialist, but she says it might be a few days before they get back to me.
A couple of weeks ago, our male 2 year old bengal started chewing on his fur, pulling it out in large sections. I took him to the vet, and it turned out that he had a severe ear infection. His response to the ear pain was to over groom himself to the point of baldness. We gave him the ear meds everyday. The first day I noticed that his inner eyelid closed on one side, and I assumed that it was from us putting meds in his ears, since all of that is connected.
Last night, we noticed that his eye is partially closed. I picked him up and saw that his whiskers are sticking out at a funny angle, his lip is curled, and he can't close that eyelid. He can still move the eye, but doesn't follow anything when you cover the other eye. His nose still works just fine, and he seems to be able to feel me touching his face. The vet says his ear infection is completely gone, and he has pretty much a clean bill of health. She just can't figure out why he's suddenly partially paralyzed. Really not sure what to do next. Anybody had a cat with this before?
