My sweet Coco is in the kitty hospital tonight. A brief history:
The vets are completely stumped with Coco. 3 of the 4 in the office have conferred and the only somewhat plausible explanation they can come up with is that the tumor was producing such a high level of thyroid hormone that removing it sent her into a tailspin. The low dose of tapazole may have further complicated it.
I'm at a loss. I want Coco better, but I don't want her to suffer. I keep wondering if I will know when she is ready to cross the rainbow bridge or if I will be too busy trying to save her to notice. My almost 2 year old daughter asked tonight "Where Coco?" and it broke my heart. Having a sick kitty is so, so hard.
- Bladder Stones/surgery in 2008
- Fatty Liver Disease and Liver Biopsy 2010
- Hyperthyroidism diagnosed 2010
- Large tumor near thyroid removed last week. Thyroid gland was not removed. Pre surgeryT4 was 11.5.
- Tumor sent for histology at Auburn. Still waiting for results
