Is there any danger in eating flies? I would imagine they are full of pathogens. One of our cats has become so skilled at catching them and swallowed three today. I don't remember having so many fat sluggish flies around before, nor having a cat that got them, though they all try.

There shouldn’t be any harm in eating flies. Cats outside would typically eat a lot of them. Good source of protein. :)

My guys will catch anything that fly's in, or the occasional crawly as well. Our vet recommends a broad spectrum parasite treatment twice a year, even for indoor cats. Insects do carry parasites that can transmit to the cat, and all of us will get a bug occasionally. Mosquito Hawks are a big thing at my house..lol. the cats love it when one of those guys gets in. me not so much.
