So my boyfriend and I recently moved in together. His cat is a little piggy who devours her food within minutes, and my cat is a grazer. We are gone at work all day, so right now their feeding schedule is they get half their portion in the morning, and another half portion when we get home from work. My boyfriend's cat eats her entire portion when she gets it, and my cat tries to graze on it and usually doesn't finish it before I have to put it up. My cat has a heart condition, so I have to crush up her pill in her food (wet food). I'm concerned she's not getting enough to eat because I have to put the food up when I leave for work or when I go to bed so the other cat doesn't eat the pill or eat so much she gets sick. I've considered leaving food out during the day, but I know the other cat would just eat all of it. Since we moved in together, my cat is probably eating about half of what she should. I know the ideal solution would be to feed them small amounts multiple times per day, but I'm at work all day and this is not an option for me. Does anyone have any suggestions for feeding a grazer and a piggy when they can only be fed twice a day? I'm hoping that my cat will start to learn that if she doesn't eat all of her food when it's down she won't be fed again in till hours later. Help!
