We have an older cat...at least 13 yrs that started to do something very wierd last night.
Some history...She (Spaz) has been vocalizing alot at night and sometimes during the day and wandering from room to room. We have reported this to the vet and have had her checked out but nothing really conclusive was determined.
We also noticed facial twitching every once in awhile. Her head and whiskers twitch rapidly for a couple seconds then she's back to normal. When this happens she is usually sitting in a lap or one of her favorite perches.
Well last night we heard a single meow from the other room, she came out and moved under the dining room table and started walking in circles as if chasing her tail. This lasted for about 10-15 min.
She would not respond to calls to come and bolted when we tried to approach her.
After 15 min she came directly to us and seemed fine.
It happened again this a.m. but she seemed to want to come when called but couldnt move to jump up into my lap...this is typically never a problem. I was able to pick her up and set her next to me and she kept sniffing at my hand as if I was someone new.
Whats up? We called the vet this am and they indicated it could be an inner ear infection or possible brain tumor. They said to watch her and bring her in if it got worse.
