This is Odo, a Dusky conure. This pic is proof that conures are goofy clowns... he is flighted, yet he still thinks he has to climb to the ground from a chair. Dork!!'
Odo again. They're very smart, and he figured out this little toy in less than a half hour. He takes all the shapes out and puts them back in the proper holes.
Interspecies flirting.
He LOVES to stare at his feet as if to say, "what the heck are these scaly things? I thought I was made of feathers!"
Here he is singing one of his enchanting songs... it goes something like this, "Screeech! Screechy screechy! Ritty irrrrd..."
He LOVES his happy hut.
Chip thief!!
One of my favorite pics... we were having a relaxing evening with the help of Mike's Hard Lemonade, and Odo decides to plop on his back and look drunk. I promise we didn't give him any, though he does indeed look drunk!
Conures are wonderful pets... not as demanding and psychologically fragile as the larger parrots, but as clownish and entertaining as they are... plus, they are very hands-on, Odo loves to be held on his back, have his head rubbed, and hide in my shirt to take a nap. He says "retty irrrd," wolf-whistles, and gives me kissy noises. I love my Odo so much.
