I recently switched my cats over to Nutro Natural choice wet food. Main reason was because one of my cats has stomatitis so i've been trying to find a healthier brand to feed him (and the others who aren't sick) Except Kuki, the one with stomatitis has developed a swollen lower lip.
I took him to the vet today and was told it was a rodent ulcer. I tried to ask my vet if it may have to do with an allergy to the food but he shot that down. I'm not convinced that this ulcer he developed is just because of his stomatitis. I've spent all day researching about rodent ulcers and ulcers related to stomatitis and they do not even come close to what Kuki has. His stomatitis is mild also, so I dont know if it would be the direct cause.
Anyway, I've read that grainy foods may cause allergies and are not as good for certain cats. I bought the chicken and rice wet good and chicken casserole which both have rice which would be considered a grain.... Should i not feed this to him anymore?
Any suggestions for food that has no grains?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Carrie
