Hi all. I just brought my 2 girls home from being spayed 2 hours ago. They're 3 to 4 months old.

I have them upstairs in a quiet, spare room with their food, beds, water and litter box.

For a couple of hours now they have been hissing and growling at each other and I am worried.

Is this normal behavior? Should I separate them?

They are likely stressed out and taking it out on each other. They'll probably calm down, but if they start getting more aggressive go ahead and separate them. It might help to rub them both down with one of the blankets or beds that they normally use just to get them back to smelling like home.

Thanks NewYork1303

At this time Raven is recovering much better than Salem and almost

back to her normal self while Salem is still hissing and growling.

I did have them separated for awhile but they seem to be less stressed if

I'm near them and petting them.

I'm trying to comfort both but trying to keep distance between them at the same time.

I put out their cat bed and also laid out a big fluffy comforter on opposite ends

of the living room.

Hopefully Salem will be feeling better in the morning.
