A few months ago we had friends who live in Boston visit Florida. This girl and I went to school together and i've known her for many years. But she and her husband are just not animal people at all!
She was sitting on the couch and my little Tippy-toes (who is the friendliest and most lovable cat I've ever seen) jumped on the end table next to the couch and was just looking at my friend, Arlene. Arlene just looked at her and said "look at those eyes -- she's scary!". Ok now look at Tippy in the siggy picture --- does she look scary? It's become a standing joke in our house now -- everytime she sits and stares at us, which is often, we just say "oh are you scary!"
I just don't understand people who aren't animal lovers.
