This will sound strange, but, it's just the way he is.
Gibsy is 7 months old and eats ground up raw chicken necks with vitamin supplement. (over 1/2lb morning and 1/2lb night).
With bowl in hand, he's extremely excited and spins circles like a puppy under my feet. If you watch him for more than a couple seconds, you'll get dizzy.
I mean, it's a challenge just to get his bowl set down on the floor because he's spinning circles and in the way.
As soon as the bowl hits the floor, GOBBLING like a starving puppy. (for 15lbs, I sure don't think he's starving getting over a lb a day).
Ran out of his chicken neck grind couple days ago and been getting the "run-around" from the grocery store.
SO, we got him some chicken THIGHS.
No time to grind them on Monday, so we deboned a few and fed him.
....Tuesday morning.......the last of his chicken neck grind.
....Tuesday evening......cut up chunks of chicken thighs (ice cube size, not ground).
....Wed morning.......Mix of ground up chicken thighs, and beaver (yep, beaver...I have an in-law....don't ask
). All meat was good, fresh. Beaver really dark/red meat though.
....Wed evening.....NO interest, and NO excitement in seeing me carrying his food bowl what-so-ever. He "meandered" over by it, took a whiff, and walked off.
He's not hot, not feverish, not really lethargic....plays with his toys, cuddles, purrs...."seems" pretty normal. Went to sleep in my lap Wed night and I'd get a stinky poot about every 20 minutes.
I think I heard is stomach gurgling a bit also.
And he did go poop in his litter box sometime Wed night (last night).
Didn't attempt to feed him this morning though, since all I had was still that chicken/beaver grind.
Think it could be the change in meats 10hrs before he said "No Food"?
Or could it be the "chunks" of chicken thigh (instead of ground), 24hrs before he said "No Food"?
Or something else?
He loves ground turkey, I'm going to try that at noon today just to see if it is that red meat messing with him.
In the meantime, any thoughts?
