Newly Neutered Cat Reeks Of Urine, How To Clean Him Up Without Affecting Surgery?

Hi all - back again.

I just brought home my boy from the vet, he finally got neutered!

Everything went well and he's laying down but oh my goodness he reeks. He must've peed and laid in it at some point when he was there and it's so strong smelling on his fur. It reeks.

How can I clean him up without affecting his new surgery?

Have you called the vet? I'd think they'd be best equipped to offer the advice on how to handle this.

I think it's a combination of Betadine and urine. Most of the cats I've had altered smell like that after surgery, even the females, so it's not just tomcat pee. Anyway, you can wipe him with a damp cloth, or just give him a washable towel to sleep on and he'll wash himself when he recovers from the anesthetic.
