Some of you might already know this - quick summary- I have been interviewed for another job and my boss doesn't know about it yet.
I met with my CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) who's above my boss to tell him about some of my frustrations with my boss and to ask if there are any possibility of me changing bosses. The meeting went well and to my surprise, the CMO said that he's currently restructuring the dept anyway and promised me that I WILL be transferred to a different position (in the same dept) under a different boss.
Later on that day, I got an email back from the agency which I interviewed with and they want me to submit a background check which I know I will pass with no trouble then they will make an offer from there.
My dilemma is this - should I give my CMO a heads up that I am expecting another job offer or should I just wait and see what happens? I don't want CMO and others restructuring the department and placing me in another position then find out that I'm leaving for another job (If I decide to go for it)....
I am really torn about which to go for and as of now, I am just waiting to see what the salary would be for the position since they said "The pay will not be what you are worth but the benefits and people are great" which worries me. I want to be able to continue paying my bills and have enough money to live comfortably..
What are your thoughts and advice about whether I should give my CMO a heads up about a potential job offer so he'd know to hold off on restructuring or?
