He is surely a domestic shorthair, DSH. Red tabby. But he seems to be a ticked tabby, and this isnt that common. The breed most known for often being ticked tabbies are the abyssynian - so he may perhaps have some Ancestry from them.

I understand you did adopted him, because he is apparently inside now, not outside in your yard?

I'd say a cream ticked tabby Domestic Shorthair. His coloring is similar to that of a fawn Abyssinian, so I agree with StefanZ that maybe some Abyssinian ancestry is possible. He's a handsome fellow for sure!

One pretty kitty! So I see you like wood furniture. You get a scratch post and such yet? I think any cat that's been outside for a little time, gets accustom to scratching on wood and trees. Hats off to you for taking him in.
