Interesting new study. It's only the initial one, so repeats will need done to ensure the theory is correct.

Interesting, it was also found that ignoring a cat raises it's stress - opposite to current recommended actions even by behavioural experts when dealing with naughty behaviour.

Scientists Might Have Found the Best Way to Catcall a Cat

Interesting article. My cats hate to be ignored, even though they actually never are ignored. If they even perceive what they interpret to be a lack of interest, they begin to jockey for attention. When I made the sounds in the last paragraph, I got an immediate reaction from the cat who was nearest to me.

Magnus gets very distressed when being ignored. That advice never worked for us and only taught him to do dangerous behaviour that we could not ignore 😞 He only tolerates work and such for a certain amount of time as well.
