Hi everybody, new member to the board. Recently received a 6 week old kitten and been taking care of him. Just had a few questions for you guys and thanks in advance.

#1. After he poops in the litterbox, should i remove all the litter or just the wastes?
#2. Does he need a scratching post? What's it for?
#3. How often should I play with him each day?
#4. At how many weeks of age until he needs to get his shots?

Thanks again, if anything else comes up i'll ask.

Ok

1. You can just scoop the poop out of the tray as you please. This can be once or twice a day and then you can change all the litter about once a week or more if it is stinky!

2. Yes!! Cats love to scratch posts as it is a play toy and they can play fight with it. It also stops them from doing it on your furniture! It also helps them strengthen their arm and leg muscles.

3. As often as you can!!! At least a couple of hours if you can spare it. But even just being in the same room as him can be comforting for a young kitten. But they need lots of attention to become social with humans.

4. Well, in Australia the first round of shots come at 6 weeks and then the next ones at 12 weeks.

Hope this helps!! Good luck with your new kitty!! Post pics please!!!
