We adopted a 2 month old kitten from the humane society on Saturday, everything is going great other than she wont use the litter box. Every time she has an accident I pick it up and take her and it to the litter box and show her that is where it goes. The second time i did that she also went pee. It looked like just a tiny spot, but I just figured that most of it must have went deeper into the litter. Well today she went pee on the carpet, I went to clean it up after rushing her to the litter box and once again it was only a tiny spot. By tiny I mean smaller than a dime. I do have her an appointment with a vet tomorrow, but I am just wanting any advice on what it could be, and maybe what to expect with the vet.
It has been almost 7 years since I had a cat and have never had one that wouldn't use the litter box and didn't pee much.
She drinks plenty of water so I don't know what could be wrong.
Also she was fixed the day before we adopted her. Could that be why she isn't peeing very much?
