Hi everyone, 6 months ago I found two abandoned kittens in my yard, they were very young, I was told about a week old. They're about 6 months old now, one of my boys has been suffering from a viral infection, 2 vet visits and 2 rounds of antibiotic later and hes still not better, he was prescribed a steroid nose drop for his nose which has something growing inside there. I've been giving him the nose drops for more than 2 weeks now, and the thing inside of his nose is still there same size, hes congested because of it, can anyone please help me, hes super stress every time we have to go to the vet. Thank you in advance for your help!!

Hi. So, you already know another vet visit is in your immediate future, right?
So, either ask the vet for a mild sedative to give him advance of the trip or try a calming product. There are tons on the market, but not all work for all cats. In your case, I would get something direct from the vet for this next trip, since I think it is going to need to be pretty soon.

Other members will come along soon and offer some tips/advice, so just be patient - and keep checking back frequently.

Antibiotics can't cure a virus. The only reason that comes t o mind is if the vet was concerned about the chance of a secondary viral infection. You should ask m why he prescribed the antibiotic.

Are there there any ot her good vets in your area? Any that specialize in felines?

The nasal growth sounds disturbed to me. A second opinion might be a good thing before the growth becomes worse. Thanks for rescuing the kits. And please keep us posted!

You need to find out what is growing in the nose and I know that means more vets and expense and stress, but even if it ends up being something benign it is causing the kitten a lot of stress.

Do you have pics to show inside the nose? I know it might be hard to take, but if you have someone holding your kitty down ans you use one hand to take the pic and another to shine a flashlight up their nose.

Sorry everyone about the late response, just been so sad for my boy, my vet suspected that he has pharyngeal polyp and recommended taking him to see a specialist to be certain , $150 for the exam, procedures would cost extra, does anyone know how much the removal procedure would cost?
Also, Ive just read up on nebulizer therapy with colloidal silver and Willard water to reduce polyp since the polyp do tend to recur after surgery, have anyone tried that? Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!
I'm attaching a picture of his nose a couple of weeks ago, it's now gone down but my vet said that she could still feel the throat.

Hi!
Would anything here help?

(apologies for any dead links you may encounter);
Financial Assistance – Day By Day Caregiver Support Inc.

Financial Aid for Pets

No Money For Vet Care? How To Find Help And Save Your Cat's Life

You should look into these to help with bet visits;
Only Natural Pet has a product called Just Relax Calming spray with essential oil (catnip oil).

There's this one, be sure and scroll all the way down the page;
Bach Flower Remedies - Rescue Remedy Pets Dogs Cats Horses Birds

Music can be useful in general in helping a cat to relax whether they are healthy and especially when they're not (not 24 hours a day though, just now and then for a couple hours or so). Musicforcats . com, or there's an app called Relax My Cat or there is low volume classical harp music.

You could try one of these, only a small selection of a fast-growing section of pet products;
Richard's Organics Pet Calm-this one is drops that you put on the tip of the tongue. Also, Quiet Moments Cat treats, and there is Calming Care, Calm-o-mile, Sentry, Natures Miracle calming spray, Vetri-Science's Composure is another item to look at, Pet Remedy (it has valerian) is yet another, as is Essential Pet Pet-ease, Only Natural Pet (brand and website) has calming products, Pet Naturals also has one I believe.

Also Thunderease has diffusers as does Sentry, Comfort Zone and feliway as mentioned although diffusers are expensive and not always the answer.

If it's legal where you are, you might want to check with your vet but some people have good results with CBD oil, plus there are vet-prescribed calming products too.
Lambert Vet Supply is a website to look at, and of course chewy, also there's Petwishpros, animaleo, 1-800-petmeds, Petco and PetSmart, and other pet stores.

There is also a product called a lickimat which could be helpful, as cats can be calmed by the process of licking. The LickiMat - Food Puzzles for Cats

This discussion's post talks about some other products;
