My 4 year old boy Binx had some urinary issues. 2 years ago he was going outside the litter box, having troubles urinating and when he did it was bloody. I brought him to 4 different vets and a ton of vet visits. Finally they found an abnormality in his bladder. They did surgery and he has been fine.. until now.
There's a cat in my neighborhood. He has an owner but the owner refuses to take care of him. He was limping and having issues and his owner refused to bring him to the vet so I did. Turned out he broke 2 bones in his foot. The vet said he'd be ok without a splint but should stay inside for awhile to heal and so I can give him his meds daily. I call him Buddy.
So Buddy has been inside my house since Wednesday, and just today (Sunday) Binx started howling while trying to use the litter box and it was bloody. Could having Buddy inside be causing Binx to have this issues? How do I know if it's stress causing Binx to have these issues or if it's something that he's going to need surgery again?
I don't want to just kick Buddy back outside, but I also need to make sure I'm taking care of my cats as well. Help please!
