We knew that when we brought Molly in that there was a chance that we'd have fights for the Alpha position. What we never figured on was that our sweet, submissive and timid little boy would take over the position easily and readily!
Whisper is now our alpha, and he is *bossy* about it. He bosses me around (he doesn't want me to go upstairs, ever). He bosses Reagan around (who ever would have imagined that was possible?) and he keeps telling Molly her place.
So for the update... Molly and Reagan get along well. Molly will "chirp" from her spot under the end table, where she likes to sit, and Reagan will meow from her spot on the stairs. And back and forth and on and on for about five minutes at a time.
Whisper and Reagan still don't like Dozer. Whisper doesn't because Dozer, when they were still a little puppy and a little kitten, liked to drag Whisper around by his head. I can understand Whisper's point of view! Reagan doesn't like Dozer because she wasn't socialized with dogs early on.
I can see Molly and Dozer sleeping together in the not too distant future, which is nice, because Dozer could do with an animal friend.
Watching them always amazes me. Feline behavior is fascinating, especially when one considers how *intelligent* these animals are!
