Calico is not a cat breed, it's a fur color. Without papers, she isn't anything but a DSH (Domestic Short Hair). I believe her fur pattern is called torbie. She is definitely a pretty cat, though!

It's great that you are taking care of her after her owners left. :)

I know calico isn't a breed, but since I've never seen a mau with that colouring I thought I'd throw it in there.

We've had her for about a month and a half but took us almost a week to figure out she wasn't getting food from anywhere.
She started living in our basement when her people left to have their house remodeled.
I originally had to sneek her food, but then my dad gave into her cuteness.
Now we're trying to transition her to being indoor outdoor.

I've named her Belle since I dnt know her real name.
It bothers me though how they just left her.

She'd be called a tortie tabby & white domestic over here.

The eye liner is standard for tabby marked cats, not exclusive to E Maus at all

Well done taking care of her, no reason for her to be indoor/outdoor though (unless you have a cat proof yard or enclosure) she's safer being indoor only

Well, I have an indoor cat Freyja and think that having both of them indoors at all times would be a bit much.

Also, Belle's been an outdoor cat as long as I've known her.

And I find that outdoor cats are seemingly happier. Until Freyja, actually, I've always had outdoor cats.

Only reason Freyjas an indoor cat is that my boyfriend doesn't want her to get hit by a car.

If it were up to me, she'd be an indoor outdoor cat too.

Very very pretty, but no Mau in her - and they are one of the rarest cat breeds, at least in the UK.

A cat-proof back yard / garden would give both your cats the best of both worlds - the fun of going out and the safety of staying in.  Some ideas on how to achieve it here:
