Not sure where to go for help so thought I would start here. We have 2 cats, brother and sister that are 2 1/2 years old. We have had them since they were 3 months old. They are free feed taste of the wild and Kirkland maintenance dry, we rotate these foods, plus they are given about 2-3 oz friskies 2 x daily and they sometimes don't eat all of it.I try to feed 3-4 cans of friskies then rotate a better quality canned food such as soulistic, natural balance, wellness, etc Turbo the male is 14 1/2 lbs and really needs to lose some weight, Shiloh weighs about 9 lbs and seems to be about the right weight for her smaller structure. Turbo is bigger in stature than Shiloh but definitely too chunky to be healthy.
Turbo loves wet food, he usually eats about half of what I put down in the kitchen right away and then I move the dish to the laundry room where the dogs can't get it, the dry food is down there, and Shiloh usually doesn't like to eat in the busy kitchen. Shiloh tends to eat more of the dry food as she prefers that to wet.
I know that I need Turbo to lose a bit of weight but not even sure how to go about doing that without Shiloh losing weight. Also I have a very tight cat food budget but want the best that I can do for these cats. Turbo is my son's best friend, son has ADHD and some other issues and Turbo has been the best thing for him and we need to keep him healthy! Any suggestions or ideas are very appreciated.
