Got this in email yesterday, and wondered, can anyone add to this list? Being cat owners/lovers, I bet we can!

Falling in love.

Laughing so hard your face hurts.

A hot shower.

No lines at the Super Walmart.

A special glance.

Getting mail.

Taking a drive on a pretty road.

Hearing your favorite song on the radio.

Lying in bed listening to the rain outside.

Hot towels out of the dryer.

Finding the sweater you want is on sale for half
price.

Chocolate milkshake. (or vanilla)!

A long distance phone call.

A bubble bath.

Giggling.

A good conversation.

The beach.

Finding a $20 bill in your coat from last winter.

Laughing at yourself.

Midnight phone calls that last for hours.

Running through sprinklers.

Laughing for absolutely no reason at all.

Having someone tell you that you're beautiful.

Laughing at an inside joke.

Friends.

Accidentally overhearing someone say something nice
about you.

Waking up and realizing you still have a few hours
left to sleep.

Making new friends or spending time with old ones.

Having someone play with your hair.

Sweet dreams.

Hot chocolate.

Road trips with friends.

Swinging on swings.

Wrapping presents under the Christmas tree while
eating cookies and drinking
eggnog.

Making eye contact with a cute stranger.

Winning a really competitive game.

Making chocolate chip cookies.

Having your friends send you homemade cookies.

Spending time with close friends.

Seeing smiles and hearing laughter from your friends.

Holding hands with someone you care about.

Running into an old friend and realizing that some
things (good or
bad)never change.

Watching the expression on someone's face asthey
open a much desired present
from you.

Watching the sunrise.

Getting out of bed every morning and thanking God
for another beautiful day.

*Doing my kitty call and watching all the cats run in for food and treats...*

Listening to the horses munch their hay under a starlit sky

I might add going out into the woods,finding a sheltered glade and just sitting in God's cathedral. Listening to the breezes and the trees singing their own praises. Lying on my back watching the sky above and seeing all the busy little creatures that live their daily lives without money or fame.

Also strolling along the seashore...seeing the waves caressing the land in their ancient love affair...poking thru the rocks and seaweed to find the lover's gifts the sea has left behind.

I'll be happy to add to this list:

A good meal

A freshly washed car

A funny post in the forums (thanks, Joe, 3LK, and many others)

A cat sleeping in your lap

Furry faces at the door when you come home

Learning something new

1. Hearing a baby "laugh out loud" for the first time.

2. Seeing kittens born

3. Eating vegetables or picking flowers you grew yourself

4. Finding a wonderful group of new friends (at the Cat Site) that you can't wait to hear from, or share with each day!

5. Realizing that you are never too old (thank you, Jesus) to appreciate a handsome young man(coming and going. . . . . )

[These are in no particular order and contain a frequency assessment in parentheses.]

Napping with the cats on the sofa (every day).

Arriving at the bus stop just in time to catch the bus (infrequent).

Finding an attractive book at the library (often).

Being visited by a human friend (rare).

Turning on the television receiver and discovering there's actually an interesting program being broadcast (seldom).

Going to an inter-net message board and discovering an actual response to a post (frequent).

Having food to eat during the final week of each month (more often than not).

Listening to wonderful music (all the time).

Mr.Cat; Being a fellow "Fixed Income Survivor" I really appreciate the comment about food and the "end of the month" (which we are in the final days of right now for June). I must say, I have passed up things I "wanted" at the supermarket many times to make sure that my animals have their canned and dry food. (I am sure you have too)

I have a paperback recipe book on 101 ways to stretch 1lb. of hamburger! (just incase you're interested. . . .)

3LK:

Don't you worry about Joe. I'm sure he just finds some picture of a gourmet meal somewhere on the internet and feasts to his heart's content!

And they ought not call it a "fixed" income. It should be a broke income, 'cause that's about what you are. If I were "fixed" I'd be in a lot better shape than I am.

Three-Legged Kat, I am indeed interested in that cook book you mentioned! It's too late for this month, but it would surely come in handy subsequently.

And, there's no truth to the rumor that I'd find an image of actual food (meat) on the inter-net and vicariously enjoy an actual meal!

The smell of:

freshly cut grass;
the ocean;
freshly made coffee.

helping people out;
a cat purring in my ear (it tickles!);
a baby's smile;
the smell of a freshly bathed baby;
daydreaming;
knowing how many friends I have;
the aroma of eucalyptus;
the sound of the ocean;
soaking in the tub with candles and soft music;
holding a kitten when it starts purring.

Sitting and watching the campfire and hearing it snap and crackle.

Hearing a loon call out on the water.

Watching the moon rise over the trees

Hearing the sweet little meows and purrs of my kittens while greeting me in the morning.

Knowing I am loved.

My new #1 Natural High:

Reading Mr. Cat's posts

I do note 2 things, however:

1. I have elevated in user name status by 200.

2. There you go sticking me in the kitchen again. First make the coffee and now peel the potatoes. I have a really damaging childhood story about an aunt who made me go outside in my Sunday best to husk corn that goes along with this.
