Not at all. Misunderstanding about them is widespread in the UK, and there is a lot of false information and supposition going around. They are tiny plastic caps which, if the correct size is used, doesn't have any ill effect on the cat whatsoever. They fit in such a way that the cat can still splay and retract his claws as normal, they don't affect walking in the slightest, and the cat still exhibits his normal 'stropping' and scratching behaviour. The only thing they do is provide a little rounded tip to the claw instead of a sharp one.Originally Posted by maoandneko
