Can't answer that directly, but I had the gang on that food b/c of Archie and his tummy/gut problems and my new vet said, take him off of it... too much pea. And she didn't like duck as the primary protein source. I am not that impressed with the NB line overall.
I did put everyone on Taste of the Wild .... interestingly... my puker cat stopped puking! Over two months now.....
Arch's poo situation is better but then I also give him a little bit of slippery elm or marshmallow root in his food once a day. Per Sharky's suggestion.
Duck is often a hard one on the digestion.. Peas are high on the allergen list ... Did the vet suggest a slow transition or maybe a probiotic ? Slippery elm and marshmellow should be discussed with your vet prior to useing
No she did not suggest anything. I will have to talk to her. Cleo gets blood in her stools on most foods. She was fine on the babyy food but she can not stay on that. I was doing chicken and turkey baby food.
I fed my cat all flavours of NB with Green Pea - he liked the venison and duck the best. He didn't have a tummy problem but he's now a CRF cat so I am forced to feed him prescription stuff. I do sometimes sneak in the NB because he will stop eating the k/d and lose weight which is not good for a CRF cat.
My kitty was having diarrhea problems, parasites were ruled out. A possible food intolerence was suspected as the culprit. So she suggested to give him some of the NB Green Pea and Duck. I bought a couple cans of the wet and gave him some. So far he has not had diarrhea and his stool has been normal since giving him this formula. I will be keeping this food on hand to give to him since its helping out his tummy. But every cat is different and may not agree with all cats.
I have another cat that is almost 18 with CRF. She hates wet K/D and N/F so she gets Purina N/F dry and wet Hills L/P. Cleo my sphynx still stinks with this food.
Jacky, have you thought about Ziwipeak? It is expensive... It will cost you $2.50 a day to feed Cleo, but there is no better canned food IMO... You can have a one or two protein, and it is grain free, and all natural...
I had great success with it, and now I will go back to it because of Hope... It will break my bank, but it's well worth it.
Here is the info - Hope's favorite is Venison and Fish, and she eats one can a day... It is FANTASTIC... Here I buy at Pets Supplies Plus... You can also buy from Amazon, but I would try to locate a local source (to try first, to see if she likes), as it does have a distinct taste and texture - It almost feels like raw meat... If Cleo doesn't like the texture, you can blend it on the food processor - that's what I do for Bugsy, and he loves it... Anyways... Here you go... Oh, One thing: They HATE the lamb! Venison and Fish LOVE; Venison LIKE; Lamb HATE
