With a heavy heart, we had to send our Sweet Hurley over the bridge today. He joined his brother "Morris" @ 11:45 on 5-10-2016. He was 16.
Hurley was the sweetest cat I have ever known. Not once can I remember him doing anything that needed correcting or a raised voice. I hope his super sweet disposition comes through in the picture below.
Our house seemed so empty this morning, it felt like "just a house".
He was actually the neighbors cat. Once they got him they realized someone in the house was alergic, so he was to live outside in their back yard. Then they got a dog and he lost his "Yard". He would often come to our house and just sit on the wall, but would run if we tried to approach him. He was a neighborhood cat at that point.
We had two cats already, Morris and Balofur. Hurley would sneak in and finish their food after they were done. A year or so past and we lost Balofur and Hurley began to hang around more and more. One night we woke up to find Hurley sleeping on our bed with us.
From that point on...He was ours! Morris and Hurley were inseparable. Morris became Hurley's buddy and protector.
And now they are together again, for eternity.
Thank you Hurley, for letting us care for you and share your short time on this earth. I hope we made your life every bit as joyfull as you made ours.
