I have a 13 year old maine coon who pretty much out of nowwhere was acting lethargic, drinking too much water, not eating much. This was on Sunday. I watched her like a hawk but by monday already had an appointment for her on Tuesday. Diagnosis is acute kidney failure. She's getting fluids at the vet now and was eating as of yesterday. However, her heart rate is low and she can't regulate her own body temperature. The vet thinks she also has partially lost her sight. I'm going to see how today goes. I'm having a very hard time accepting the fact that Kobie was "fine" in all appearances until she wasn't.
I held her for almost an hour this morning stroking her and telling her I loved her. She purred and cooed a tiny bit. If there's not improvement by tomorrow then I will make "the decision" but I'm sick over this and very heartbroken.
