My long hair young male cat refuses to clean his bum after a poo

My long hair young male cat refuses to clean his bum after a poo., He is lazy thinks he is missing out on fun if he takes the time to clean or cover his mess. I clean for him. What can I do?

take him to groomers and get his hair trimmed or do like my little sister and trim it yourself

He goes to get a "butt trim" every two months.

then its grab a wet paper towel and give him a good swipe to clean it for him like his mum would do he will eventually clean it himself while hr grooms himself

Thanks game misconduct. I do that now ... he simply does not want to do it himself. He will groom half heartedly after I wipe. Lazy boy thing? He is 13 months old.

If I don't catch it immediately it dries and I spray water on his bum to loosen. He does not like that but than I can clean him

my cat graycie is doesnt like it much either but i do notice that after the swipe she does clean her butt after cause she knows i will keep hobbling around after her until its cleaned
