This is for our site member, ReginaKitty. She lost her beloved boy in February and was only now able to ask if I would post about his passing for her. I know that many of you understand how that feels and will want to offer your condolences to her and her family.
Adopted: March 2005
Went to Heaven: February 6, 2011
His name was BADEN.
Heaven awaited....and he arrived Sunday February 6, 2011.
Tears come and go in waves of grief and relief.
He was a big huge lion...and a very kind boy.
BADEN was one of 7 cats (4 adopted and 3 we rescued from the streets)
and one rescued dog.
The first four cats we adopted had been found together, so my husband and
I took all four home that day. We did not want to separate them;
and they had already been in the shelter together for one year.
His closest friend was Holly. After he crossed the Rainbow Bridge, she stayed in his
place for 3 weeks. I knew she was grieving as much or more than we humans.
I hugged her and held her - she always returned to the place where he
chose the past few months of his life.
Then one day Holly stood up, gave 3 loud low cries and left his spot.
Holly is happier now.....and I still find myself crying now and then.
We buried BADEN on our friend's farm under beautiful pines trees.
