The handsome kitty Nimrod that lived with my mom has been missing now for over a week and I think it's time for both me and my mom to face the reality that he has journeyed over the rainbow bridge. I saved him December 18, 2007 from a not so good shelter and he later stayed with my mom when I moved out because he was to traumatized from a home robbery we had to deal with all the stress of a big move. I didn't want to put him through that and he was super close with my parents' other cat.
A few years ago my parents moved to a new 55+ community and their other kitty Beaumont passed away but by then Nimrod had made friends with their pug Toby so he wasn't alone. Nimrod loved to go outside and soak up some sun, so much that my parents installed a car door for him in their bathroom. He never really went to far from
The house and he had I.D. in case he got lost. Every night around 9pm he would come home to get his nightly treats with the other animals before my parents went to bed, but that changed about a week ago when he didn't show up for treats. My parents called his name outside, and he would usually come when called but didn't show. They walked around the mobile home park searching but still nothing, the neighbors who knew him hadn't seen him and no one called about him. The other day my parents spoke to the gardener that tends to the complex and he said he hadn't seen him but sadly that he did find a white cat foot [emoji]128546[/emoji]. Nimrod was a tuxedo cat all black with white on his face, chest, and "shoes." There are fields down a little ways from the park that boarder a rural open land area that goes into the hills where I know there are coyotes. I never thought they would come down that far especially into a really populated mobile home park but everything is possible. I know crazy things happen my cat Presley was missing for 2 1/2 weeks and we did find him knocking on deaths door and was able to bring him back to health, but that was a miracle when it comes to missing kitties and I thank the heavens daily for that. It crushes me to think of what could have happened and keep hoping that he will just come in the cat door and meow to announce his presence but as every day goes by my hopes lessen. I feel bad the most for my mom who's health isn't the greatest and taking care of her pets keeps her going, she is so sad and I have no idea what to say or do to make her feel better.
So to my handsome Nimrod I say goodbye and know that your deeply loved and missed and will never be forgotten by myself, my mom, my dad, and Toby the pug. Be sure to say hi to Sadie, Katie, Fraidy, and Beaumont in kitty cat heaven for us. The house will never be the same without you!
