My cat won't come out from underneath the bed

I have a male cat whom we raised from a kitten,recently we bought a puppy and he started going underneath the bed we could only assume it was the puppy,we returned the puppy hoping his behavior would improve but it's been 3 days and nothing ,we've had a cat before and his behavior didn't change like this ,he's loosing some hair and refuses to come out help!

Yes but not like normal I've actually haven't seen him during the day but I saw him come from the kitchen where his food and water are in the middle of the night

He clearly got very stressed out. I'm sorry you had to return the puppy, but thank you for putting your cat first. I've always maintained that our first duty has to be to the animals already in our care (as opposed to any new additions).

I'd suggest you try Feliway diffusers, and maybe some Composure or Zylkene to help him get over the stress. For now, block off the option to go under things where possible...he's got to re learn that the house is a safe place. Interactive play could help him reclaim his territory too. Keep the environment as calm as possible, and give him time. He will relax eventually.
