Hi everyone....so happy to have found this site and have been reading up on post PU surgeries. We had our 1.5 year old boy Louie partially block for the first time 12/23/14 and fully blocked by 12/30/14. He had the surgery last Tuesday and we picked him up on Thursday. The first couple of days were hard and his first bowel movement was terrifying for him and me! He has been eating well, drinking, peeing, and had a second bowel movement yesterday. He still hops in and out sometimes...usually when he needs to poop. The peeing is awesome On top of all this, he also got a cold and the vet said to keep giving him the Clavamox for that as well. He is on the Burenopherine (sp?) every 8 hours and that is helping him out. The site looks pretty good. We were told to not touch it or clean it...or have him lick it at all.
Sometimes when he pees, he leaves a bloody mark on the sheets....I think it is from the dried blood around the area from his first bowel movement. His pee does not have blood in it. He has also started to be interested in playing and he definitely wants to leave the room and walk around...which upsets his two brothers as they are totally freaked out by his cone!
We have 13 more days of constant supervision and I hope to god we can get through this in one piece!
