A good post. This in bold become a little unclear. It shall read: If a tortoiseshell cat is also a tabby - its often clear enough, but may be visible by having just some striped patches, then she can be called a Torbie.
To be clear a calico is not a breed but a coloration. Calico cats usually have a white coat with colored spots. Typically those spots are orange and black. Your cat looks like a domestic long hair and i bet she has a fluffy tail. My old cat Lucy was a calico.
If you are really interested: A black cat with colored spots is usually called a Tortoiseshell cat or Tortie for short. Tortoiseshell cats can come in other solid dark colors, with the patches, but black is most common. If the Tortoiseshell cat has a bit of striped patches then she can be called a Torbie.
Another tidbit: Calico cats are almost always female. It's a matter of genetics. There are male calico cats, but they are rare, and often sterile.
