He was a gentle, sweet boy who lived with us for fourteen years. He never saw a person he didn't like. He was my only cat that I could fully trust with children. He loved all the attention he could get. When my Dad was in the nursing home several years ago,,,,,,,,he wanted to see Muffin so bad. I put a collar and a leash on him for the first and only time and he visited my Dad. He was a sweetheart of a cat who everybody loved, even those who didn't like cats. They couldn't resist Muffin. He was plagued for a good portion of his life with high liver values on his blood tests. We tried to treat him with Denamarin and later, Sam-e. Both of them made him vomit so we stopped giving it to him. He had surgery for liver cancer in May of 2012. He recovered well and had a year more of good quality life before the cancer came back. Even with that and thyroid issues, he fought a long battle. At the end, most of my day was spent doing the things he needed, medicine, trying to find something he would eat, etc. He went to the vet for the last time on November 15th. He will live forever in my heart.
Muffin has already been back to pay a visit. Two weeks after his passing, I was lying in my bed in the early hours of morning, half asleep and half awake. Then I was in my yard walking around. I stooped down for some reason and when I did, I was looking Muffin straight in the face. There he lay under one of the shrubs. I was so surprised to see him. His eyes were looking so sweetly at me. I wish I had reached out to pet him. Muffin is now at peace. I know he is with our Rainbow Bridge Cats, Max and Speedboat. I believe he has seen my dad by now. Muffin, we will love and miss you forever.
Hope Hacker made this for me when we had the old signatures
For any who are interested, I have posted two links here where you can read his story.
