Hi everyone :wavey:

After three years of dating, DB and I are finally moving in together at long last! :lol3: :banana1: :hobbes:

Here's the situation: I have two cats (Boots and Kramer), he has two cats (Evie and Baggy). Currently they live in separate houses. We need tips on the best way to move them and integrate them once we're in. Thankfully, the move is only across town, so it won't be a long and stressful car ride for them.

A little bit about each kitty:

Kramer -- At 2.5, he's the old man of the cat household. He's very snuggly with his people, but can be EXTREMELY high-strung when presented with new or confusing situations. He actually attacks repairmen that come into the apartment by swatting their legs and trying to bite their feet.

Boots -- Boots is 1.5 and is the alpha cat over Kramer. Boots is very smart and observant, and has become very resilient about new things over time.

Evie -- Evie is also 1.5ish and is affectionately known around here as Princess Grumpy. :lol3: She seems to be the alpha over Baggy. She is the only girl.

Baggy -- Baggy will be 1 in April. He's a laid-back little dude and very sweet.

So here's what else we know: Evie really, really, really DOES NOT like new cats all up in her house. Even with a slow introduction, it took her about a month to get used to Baggy (although now they are best friends). She hisses and bangs on the window with her paw when ferals come into the yard.

...And Boots LOVES to bug her. In the few times we've had to temporarily put them into one apartment out of necessity, Boots has antagonized her every single time. She will growl constantly; Baggy and Kramer know enough to keep their distance, but Boots does no such thing. Last time, he snuck up from behind and pounced on her, sending them into a Tom and Jerry-style fight, running around and around the house and screaming until we separated them with a broom. :sigh:

So, clearly she will need to be separated from Boots. But for how long? Does she also need to be separated from Baggy during this time? The three boys all get along fine; with them the growling is over within the first 30 minutes. If she can stay with Baggy, can he come and go amongst the boys as he pleases?

I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of this so we can all be one big (relatively) happy cat family. :lol3:

TIA! :wavey:
