Sally (my daughters named her when they were little)
Braelyn (I'm an Irish girl)
Misty (coloring reminds one of the gray mists common to seaside towns)
Seamus (back to that Irish girl thing!)
I'd probably name another girl Autumn (my favorite season)...
Number 2 below is named Dubya, after President Bush's nickname. We adopted him the night of the November 2000 elections, right after voting. We had no idea what to name a male cat, but when the election results came in (well, the first time anyway!), we just decided on Dubya.
Does Jack Daniels Joe Mason count? My mom wanted to call him Joey so that's why I put Joe in his name. My favorite character in a show I watch his last name is Mason, and I wanted something rock n rollish so I put Jack Daniels.
I found this old thread. My new cat's name is Sweetie, and some people might think that's a strange name. It's the name he had when I adopted him and as far as I know, he was given that name by his previous owners. The name fits his personality so well that I decided not to change it.
I was very skinny as a child and my brother always called me Bones. Well, my dad called him Bonehead everytime he called me that so he named his cat Bones and told my dad he was talking to the cat! :
When I was in 2nd grade, I got a kitten from a school chum and he used to run across the floor and take a flying leap at the curtains and would swing on them. I name him Tarzan! He lived to be about 14 but did not die a natural death. He was a BIG boy and when a large dog came into our yard, he couldn't outrun him and the dog killed him!
Well I can promise you this one is unique. My youngest cat, who we normally just call "Poss" or "Possie P", her full name is "Possie P Possum Woo Woo". It started out as just Possum. I'm really not even sure where any of it came from. I'm a southerner. We have imagination! lol
My sister named her cat LuPita... Pita for short.. it always reminded me of Pita Bread, anyways.. well LuPita ended up getting out.. and well we found her a couple days later.. she could have been attacked by a coyote or dog... it was sad... but on the other hand my mom found a little kitten stuck in a tree in Walmart parking lot and so she took her home and she looks just like Pita did... so my sister calls her "Repeat" I thought it was cute!
I knew someone who had a cat named Publix, after the grocery store chain in Florida. I know someone else who got two kittens and named them The Agony and The Ecstasty.
As for me, I'm rather fond of Rodeo's name, not only for it's unusualness but because of how well it suits him as well. =) Though lately, I have been calling him Rodinger.
The most unusual is definitely a kitty from here. Trout'sMom named her kitty "Trout." I'd never have thought to name a cat after a fish. But for some reason the name just seems appropriate somehow. Trout is an adorable kitty
Hi - Newbie to the forums. My boyfriend and I have adopted two kittens (one is his cat and one is mine) - they are 4 month old twins - the first one is a gray tabby who he has named Logan aka Wolverine and an orange one I've named Nacho. They will start living with us next week in our new place. His mom has been fostering them for us since our current apartment does not allow pets. As soon as I figure out the photo function I'll post a pic.
