bonnie has been bleeding a little again, last time it happened it was crystals in her urine and she was given some form of tablet to dissolve them.
on the weekend i decided she had to go to a vet, i found a different one to the one iv'e been taking anassa to because even thought the vets knew what they were doing they were always very cold or clinical and i wanted a more friendly vet.
i chose one that sounded good and made the appointment.
when we first got there everything looked great, it was cozy, welcoming and friendly.
finally the vet came out and took us into her consultation room, she took the urine sample i collected the night before and got it tested, it came back positive for crystals as i knew it would. then she checked bonnie's tempeture which was 95 degrees or something, anyway, she says 'that is pretty high...i think, some people would disagree with me but yeah i think it's pretty high' then i asked her what medication bonnie would need and she seriously didn't have a clue, i told her that fish is one of the primary causes for crystals and she says 'oh, i didn't know that, are you sure?'
finally she prescribed antibiotics but even then she wasn't sure and wondered if she should change them at the last minute grrrr, i said it would be fine because her lack of knowlage was starting to scare me.
through the whole consultation she was nervous, unsure and doubted her own judgement which didn't give me a lot of confidence, i just can't believe she was a vet, it's scary that someone like her could be checking peoples sick pets especially since she really didn't have a clue what she was doing.
when we got bonnie back to the cabin i gave her half a tablet, while her mouth was open i noticed that the gum was all sunken and swollen around one of her front bottom teeth, it actually looked like it would fall out soon and it was painful, she also had a heap of plaque and inflamed gums at the back of her mouth, surely a vert should notice that in a general check up? my last vert always did and would get rid of the plaque.
now i have to taqke poor bonnie on another two 2 and a half drives which she hates to see another vet because the one i took her to was an idiot..grrrr
sorry, had to rant lol
