The diatomaceous earth (food grade) might dry out your skin but it could be worth a try, or you could have gloves on when you apply the spray-on sss which would help to keep it off of the skin on your hands. I think you have a few options, you could even look into fingerless gloves if you decide to go the long sleeve/gloves route for when you're outside instead of applying something to your skin..

I can do that, but still spray under my long sleeves. Buggers (the mosquitos) get under the sleeves. I have 2 hair ties and can cut out the fingers to my gloves. I really don't like spraying anything on me. I'm just leery of anything but was at wits end about these mosquitos which is why I thought of the SSS. Otherwise I am very cautious of oils and butters regardless of expert says.

No, there is coconut oil in the hairball paste made for cats.
